October 14, 2025

Today is grey and rainy and a little bit on the cold side.  In fact, I broke down and turned the heat on!  Prior to today's rain, October has been beautiful blue skies and golden radiance.  Leaves turning colors and floating to the ground gently.  The squirrels are out in full force chasing each other around and up and down the trees.  We have several black walnut trees on our property and the squirrels have been gathering the nuts up for weeks and weeks.

Soon the corn harvest will begin in earnest.  Some fields have been harvested already and the soybean crop is off the ground.  I am interested to know where these U. S. bean farmers will be selling their crop as China and its huge market is now off limits to them.

We have an outdoor wedding coming up next month.  I am not sure what to expect of the weather.  It is set for November, toward the end of the month, and who knows what Mother Nature will have set in store for us.  The bride and groom have made provisions for cold with outdoor heaters and access to a building if necessary.
