Boelus Christmas party 2024
The annual Boelus Christmas party was held on December 15, 2024 at the Boelus Community Center. The party is put on by volunteers including the Village Board members. This year was especially special because the community honored Mr. Gene Whitefoot for his 74 years as the Village Clerk and 72 years serving on the Village Board. Gene takes with him so much knowledge and experience, however, we are lucky to have him still working at his Whitefoot Market on a daily basis to ask questions or just share a cup of coffee. Gene received an honorary Admiralship proclomation in Nebraska's Navy from Governor Jim Pillen. He was also presented with a beautiful wooden plaque from Senator-elect Dan McKeon. Stories were shared and many laughs were heard. Thank you Gene for your selfless service to our community all these years. Also honored for their lengthy volunteer service to the Boelus community was Vance Christensen. Vance also served on the Boelus Village Board. Thank you Vance!
The Christmas party provided donuts, coffee and pop to those in attendance. As people had entered the center they were encouraged to write their names down to be drawn for door prizes. The door prizes were turkeys, hams, and gift certificates to local businesses. Almost every family walked out with something from the door prizes.
Santa Claus made an appearance and he listened to each child's whispered request for their Christmas. There may have been a big child who snuck onto Santa's lap.HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
